Is there any reason reason Beatles songs aren't on iTunes?

So I can't use Limewire or Acquisition on campus, so I tried iTunes, but the only Beatles songs on there are shitty cover bands and similar titled songs.

1. Can't really help you that much, Have you tried putting "The" infront of "Beatles" ? edit- yeah, uh, i was totally off? haha. sorry i've never used i-tunes. I always use Limewire. But I have to say that "exemplars_one" is right.
2. Maybe someone hasnt suggested it yet.
3. They don't want it on iTunes for some reason.
4. Pretty sure someone sued someone else or something. It's not on any online music store. Believe me, if they could put it they would. They're one of the biggest bands that ever existed, and they'd make millions if they had it up.
5. It could be because Sony, who owns most of the Beatle tunes wants more money than iTunes wants to pay.

7. It's some kind of legal problem with Apple. I think that they are in the process of trying to work it out.
8. The Beatles record company that they basically started is called Apple records, and when Apple computers wanted that name, the Beatles said they could IF they didn't do anything with music. The company then proceeded with the whole iPod/iTunes thing, clearly a violation of their agreement. So there is a whole legal thing that has to be worked through before they will put their albums on iTunes
9. The rights of Beatle songs are privately owned by Michael Jackson and Sony. No online music store has been able to secure rights for Beatle songs.
